Thomas Graham Lindsay
1875
Unionist
Thomas Graham Lindsay was one of the partners of the firm of Lindsay Brothers, one of the largest textiles wholesalers in the north of Ireland.

The firm was founded by David and John Lindsay, who took their brother Thomas into partnership. In addition to warehouses and a factory at Grosvenor Street, the firm opened a retail outlet at the Ulster Arcade on Donegall Place.

Lindsay was a member of the Methodist church and made a donation of £5000 for church extension in Belfast. He also donated to the building of Methodist College, Malone Road.

Lindsay served as alderman of Cromac Ward and as Justice of the Peace. He was particularly interested in the reform of Belfast’s postal service and succeeded in implementing regulations that improved the delivery of mail.

He died on 28 January 1882, aged seventy-three.
